Tech South West has been working with the Western Morning News to compile a ‘Tech Firms to Watch’ list.
It’s part of an initiative by Trinity Mirror, the regional newspaper group which owns the Western Morning News, to highlight a range of exciting established and emerging technology firms across the country, including the South West.
Tech South West teamed up with Exeter Science Park, Devon County Council, Exeter Innovation Centre, EXIST and other organisations, as well as turning to its own membership, to ensure a strong mix of companies were represented.
Each was asked how they see their company and the tech sector developing, the biggest challenge they and the tech sector face and what they think the biggest technological breakthrough is going to be in the next five years
The collaborative approach saw City Science, Cosmic, Custodian, Dashboard, Lightfoot, Rezcom and Theta Technologies put forward, with publication due in the coming weeks.
Speaking about the challenges facing the sector, Martin Langmaid, of internet connectivity company Slingshot 6, said:
”For us, acquiring skilled and talented people is, and likely always will be, the biggest challenge facing us, in combination with managing the normal growing pains caused by our rapid expansion. We already sell products and services in Europe, America and Australasia, and plan to increase our reach to global audiences as well as in the UK. But that’s a fun challenge to have!"
